Granville, New York Walking Tour
The Granville Walking Tour highlights the many distinctive, creative, and unique uses of slate throughout the community.
Starting and concluding at the Slate Valley Museum, the walking tour takes you through downtown Granville by following a series of numbers and directions to indicate and explain points of interest.
The tour takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
The first 45 minutes of the tour is an easy walk and will take you past many restaurants and other places to stop for a break or something to eat. The last 15 minutes of the tour is an optional section that takes you up a hill into a residential area filled with slate roofs and beautiful old home.
As the map points out, these are simply examples of uses of slate which can be found all over the world. The brochure and map also provides you with terms of interest for the walking tour.
The Granville Walking tour can be found inside the Slate Valley Museum as well as outside in case we are closed. If you would prefer to download a PDF version you can do so here.
